Simple Pretreatment Method for Tritium Measurement in Environmental Water Samples using a Liquid Scintillation Counter

The aim of this study is to evaluate quantitatively the effectiveness ion exchange resins and activated carbon in tritium measurement. A standard water sample was adjusted a concentration 5 Bq L−1. This stirred with cation (PCH) anion (PAO) carbon. After stirring samples, supernatant each filtered through 0.45 µm membrane filters. electrical conductivity an experimental condition, where amounts PCH, PAO, were 0.3 g, 0.6 respectively, lower than that treated by distillation method. method requires approximately 12 h process; however, same level results achieved min. experiment within deviation. These suggested proposed batch involving had negligible effect on total organic for samples decreased demonstrate impurity removal from resins.
